A man has been indicted on serious charges stemming from an incident last year where he allegedly raped another patient inside the Boston Medical Center emergency room; the Suffolk County prosecutors have brought forward the indictment against Barry Howze, a 55-year-old Boston resident.
Howze is facing two counts of rape in addition to other assault charges and the charge of witness intimidation. He was admitted to the ER of Boston Medical Center when the incident took place in September, as reported by NBC Boston. These allegations have prompted a jury to return indictments against Howze this past December, and he is slated to appear for his arraignment today at 2 p.m. in Suffolk Superior Court.
According to Boston 25 News, aside from the counts of rape, Howze will also answer to charges of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, assault and battery on a person with a disability. Along with the aforementioned intimidation of a witness, the indictment was the result of Howze's alleged actions on the night of September 13 into September 14 whilst he and the victim were both patients in the emergency room.
