Boston youth have a new opportunity as District A-7 officers introduce an off-ice training class to their Hockey Skills Program. The class helps young players develop key hockey skills without ice or skates. The Boston Police Foundation and FMC Ice Sports are supporting the program by providing the necessary resources.
The new training focuses intensely on puck control, shooting, stickhandling, and situational awareness, tools that athletes will find invaluable both on and off the rink. The program is all-inclusive, welcoming school-aged children from the age of 5 up to 18 and accommodating a wide range of proficiency levels, as reported by the Boston Police Department. Whether they're lacing up their skates for the first time or have been gliding on ice for years, there's a place for them here, with both on-ice and off-ice opportunities on offer.
