
Early yesterday morning, residents of Park Haven Apartments in Brooklyn Park were awakened by the sound of gunfire—a stark interruption in an otherwise quiet neighborhood. The Brooklyn Park Police Department received a call at approximately 2:45 am, reporting a shooting at the apartment complex located in the 6900 block of 76th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with gunshot wounds and immediately began rendering aid, as reported by the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
The victim was quickly transported to a local hospital, but despite the efforts of medical staff, he was later pronounced deceased, as reported by the Brooklyn Park Police Department. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation, led by the Brooklyn Park Investigators, is in full swing, with the Hennepin County Crime Scene Investigations also lending their expertise to the case.
