In a significant stride towards urban redevelopment, Butler County Commissioners have green-lit a hefty $5M investment for Downtown Middletown's revitalization. The announcement came via a social media post from the City of Middletown, Ohio - City Hall.
Fulfilling the promise of this financial injection is a collaborative agenda where the City and the Middletown Community Foundation plan to match the county's contribution for a total of $15 million, aiming at new mixed-use development. Middletown City Manager Ashley Combs lauded the partnership, "This investment reflects a strong partnership and shared commitment to the betterment of the city," Combs commented. "The heartbeat of our urban core will only grow stronger thanks to the support we’ve received from the Butler County Commissioners today," as stated by the City of Middletown, Ohio - City Hall.
Yet, the proposal isn't set in stone, it hinges on the passage of a memorandum of understanding that the City Council is expected to deliberate during tonight's council meeting. The understanding stands as a blueprint for the direction of city development and investment.
