Sen. Jason T. Dickerson of Canton has been appointed to the Senate Energy and Environment Committee of the Council of State Governments Southern Office (CSG South). The committee promotes collaboration among Southern states on issues including conservation and energy, Georgia State Senate Press Office reported.
Sen. Dickerson stated that he looks forward to working with neighboring states to strengthen conservation efforts and support farmers. He highlighted the importance of natural resources and agriculture for Georgia.
The committee includes representatives from states such as Mississippi, Kentucky, Louisiana, the Carolinas, and Arkansas. In his new role, Sen. Dickerson will participate in shaping regional environmental policies and economic strategies that can impact Georgia and the broader Southern region.
