In an operation that underscores ongoing efforts against drug-related offenses, the Washington County Sheriff's Office, working in tandem with the United States Marshals Service (USMS), has confirmed the arrest of Michael Jay Ratliff, a 45-year-old man from Chuckey. The authorities intervened while assisting the USMS in executing an arrest warrant stemming from a supervision release violation, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office report.
Ratliff was apprehended along Highway 107 where, during the search conducted by deputies, 10 grams of methamphetamine were found in his possession. The substances discovered were contained within two separate containers, alongside five capsules of an unidentified drug in a third container, as reported by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Following the discovery, Ratliff faced charges including Simple Possession, Drug Paraphernalia, and Manufacture/Delivery/Sale/Possession of Methamphetamine. For his alleged transgressions, Ratliff was booked into the Washington County Detention Center. There, he is held on a $5,000 bond for the charges pressed by WCSO, and he also has a hold from the USMS.
