Residents in Clayton County have an opportunity to declutter and safely dispose of their sensitive documents. District 3 Commissioner Tashe Allen is spearheading the "Clutter Be Gone: A FREE Community Shred Day," scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026. According to a Clayton County announcement, the event will take place from 10 am to 12 pm at the Gerald Matthews Sports Complex located at 1837 McDonough Rd., Hampton GA 30228.

In an effort to protect personal information from possible identity theft, the community shred day is a chance for residents to properly destroy unneeded documents. Each vehicle can bring up to five boxes of documents to the site. This event not only promises to securely shred sensitive papers but also aims to conveniently serve numerous households throughout the county.

Commissioner Allen's initiative is a part of the larger #ClaytonConnected movement, which seeks to foster community engagement and offer services that enhance the quality of life for those within Clayton County. The shred day event is open to all residents, signifying a true community collaboration. It is one of the many steps that the county is taking to ensure that residents can access essential services close to home.
