The Coon Rapids Police Department is calling on the community to join in support of the Police Explorers program, an initiative designed to mentor young individuals interested in law enforcement careers. A recent social media post announced a fundraising event set to take place at Pizza Ranch, where visitors will not only enjoy their meal but will be contributing to a cause dedicated to shaping future public servants.
According to the post from the Coon Rapids Police Department, Explorers between the age of 14 and 20 will be actively engaging with the event, bussing tables, and conversing with guests to raise awareness and funds for the program. The department highlights the significance of the evening with 10% of the night's proceeds directly benefiting the program. This will help to entirely cover costs such as uniforms, equipment, and necessary funds to enable the youth's participation at the State Explorer Conference in Rochester.
The conference is a pivotal experience for attendees, offering them the chance to take part in realistic police scenarios alongside over 50 other Explorer posts from different states, including Minnesota, New York, South Dakota, and North Dakota. "Grab some dinner, give back, and help shape the future of public service," the Coon Rapids Police Department stated.
