A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for several addresses in Delray Beach after a water main break, as reported on the city's official website. The break resulted in a temporary interruption of water service, which affects residences on Dogwood Drive, Spanish Trail, Boone Drive, and Evergreen Drive. The specific addresses that must heed to this notice are detailed in the city's announcement. Residents in these areas are advised to boil their water for at least a full minute at a rolling boil before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. The city's statement emphasizes the importance of following the precautionary measures, "As a precaution, all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes should be boiled for at least one minute at a rolling boil." This measure is a safeguard against contaminants that could have entered the water system as a result of the water main break.
The notice will remain in effect until further testing can confirm that the water quality meets safety standards. A rescission notice or boil water lift will be issued to residents once it is deemed safe to resume normal water use. In the meantime, for questions and additional support, the City of Delray Beach urges residents to contact the Water Sewer Network at (561) 243-7312 or visit the official notice on their website.
