In the early hours of a brisk Monday morning, Larimer County authorities arrested a man following an incident involving vehicle theft, arson, and extensive damage to agricultural land. According to a social media post from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, the suspect, identified as Jared Rosier of Denver, was apprehended after stealing a 2019 Kia Soul, setting it ablaze, and fleeing into the surrounding environment.
The saga unfolded when the victim, upon returning from a brief visit to a business on Centro Way, realized their vehicle was missing. The owner was able to provide the police with real-time updates on the car's whereabouts by tracking a cell phone left inside. Deputies eventually discovered the vehicle at around 5:20 a.m. near Timnath Reservoir and north of Weld County Road 78. Despite trying to successfully evade the authorities, Rosier was eventually located emerging from a swampy area after deputies deployed drone technology to aid in their search.
Rosier, born on November 27, 1990, now faces multiple charges, including First Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Second Degree Arson, along with charges of Criminal Mischief, False Reporting, and various degrees of Criminal Trespass, as detailed by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. After a $5,000 cash/surety bond was set by the Larimer County Court, Rosier was booked into the Larimer County Jail.
