A tragedy unfolded in Dyer County, where a house fire claimed the life of 63-year-old Jerry Brown early Saturday morning. The Dyer County Fire Department responded to the emergency near the 200 block of Pecan Street, Finley, only to discover the dire outcome. The fire, resulting in Brown's death, is under investigation by local authorities, as well as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Fire Investigation Unit, as reported by Action News 5.
When the medical examiner arrived at the scene, announced by the sheriff's office, Brown was declared deceased. Working closely with the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office, multiple fire departments from Finley, Lenox, Fowlkes, and Dyersburg, including tankers and volunteers, responded to the blaze, and thankfully, reported no firefighter injuries, further details of which can be found on WREG.
