
In a tragic turn of events this past Saturday, a rollover crash in Mayer, Arizona, claimed the life of a woman, and left another seriously injured; according to FOX 10 Phoenix, the crash took place off of Antelope Creek Road near milepost 7 on a dirt road around 5:40 p.m.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office discovered the scene where a Toyota pickup truck had rolled approximately 20 feet down into the Big Bug Wash ejecting two women from the vehicle, the vehicle was heavily damaged and the women were found in critical condition outside of the truck, azfamily.com noted the passenger was unresponsive and was soon pronounced dead, while the 38-year-old driver was found breathing but disoriented.
Fire crews and deputies at the scene attended to the injured driver, who was then airlifted to a Phoenix hospital. Given the severity of her injuries, her current condition has yet to be reported; meanwhile, detectives assessing the scene recognized signs of alcohol impairment in the driver, later establishing her blood alcohol concentration at 0.236, severely exceeding the legal limit.
The identities of both victims have not been disclosed by authorities and, while it remains uncertain whether the driver will face charges following her release from the hospital, the investigation continues, and the local community has been left shaken by the harsh reminder of the consequences of driving under the influence the incident took place off of Antelope Creek Road near milepost 7 on a dirt road at around 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 3, according to both sources.
