The Fayetteville City Council, in a meeting last Thursday, has decided to reappoint Municipal Court Judge Alisha B. Thompson for the 2026 term. Thompson has been serving in this role since January 2022, bringing continuity to the position, according to an announcement on the City of Fayetteville's official website.
Alongside Judge Thompson, the council has also reconfirmed Judge Pro-Tem Tonya Shy, Solicitor of Municipal Court Julie Kert, and Backup Solicitor of Municipal Court LeRoya Chester-Jennings.
Thompson's tenure as a Municipal Court Judge has been characterized by her judicious application of the law, dealing with various cases that range from civil infractions to misdemeanors within Fayetteville's jurisdiction. Continuing in her role, Judge Thompson is expected to uphold the same level of integrity and diligence that marked her previous term in office.
