Visitors begin by learning about Van Gogh’s life through informational panels, then view his letters and sketches along a hallway with color-changing LED lights. The main attraction is the final room, where over 300 paintings are animated on the walls and floor. The Phoenix New Times calls the exhibition “awfully pretty” and notes it appeals to social media enthusiasts.
The Beyond Van Gogh exhibition has drawn criticism, with some calling it a very expensive screensaver. It offers an accessible option for those unable to see Van Gogh’s originals. Timed tickets are still available, starting at $27.32 for adults, with varying times on the final days.

Katherine Ruffenach told Northeast Valley News that the experience evoked "some sadness" as it illuminated the "mental transformation through his art."
