Last Friday evening, Florissant transformed its James J. Eagan Center into a kids' haven for the annual Winter Palooza lock in, a festivity now marked in the community calendar. The event pulled in over a hundred kids from 5th to 8th grade, offering a smorgasbord of activities from ice skating to gaming. As reported by the City of Florissant, the children had exclusive access to the community center, indulging in everything from the chill of the ice rink to the warmth of the swimming pool.
Along with the usual winter sports and gaming at Fusion 314, a "pretty unique petting zoo" was among the new attractions, which unsurprisingly emerged as a hit among the kids. Describing the efforts behind the event, the social media post thanked those involved, stating: "Thank you to everyone who sets up this event every year and to all the parents for trusting us with your kids for an evening." Swimming in the community center pool, the kids, among other activities, had the opportunity to pet and interact with a variety of animals, slightly unusual for a cold winter's night, as per the City of Florissant.
The annual Winter Palooza lock-in in Florissant is a community event focused on family-friendly activities and youth engagement. Children participated in games, a petting zoo, and other activities, while the community center served as the venue for the evening.
