The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued warrants for a high-stakes robbery that took place last week in a Florissant tobacco shop. According to a social media post by the Florissant Police Dept, Cartez C. Harvey is facing charges including first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, and tampering with evidence.
Harvey allegedly entered Huff Vape & Tobacco around 10:45 p.m. on December 29. Brandishing a firearm, he demanded cash and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of money. During the robbery, a shot was fired, and a store employee was hit in the shoulder, which the police confirmed was non-life threatening. In its rapid response, the authorities managed to locate and apprehend Harvey, who while being taken into custody, was found in possession of a handgun.
He is currently detained at the St. Louis County Jail with the bond set at $750,000. Highlighting the staff's effective collaboration, the Florissant Police Dept commended the officers and investigators: "This was great work by Florissant Police Officers and Florissant Investigators. Their quick response, teamwork, and dedication were instrumental in quickly identifying the suspect and bringing this case to a swift resolution."
