In an initiative to boost transparency between municipal operations and public interest, the Fort Worth City Council has rolled out a new website aimed at giving citizens a peek behind the bureaucratic curtain. The council priorities dashboard, a fresh digital offering from the city, parades the efforts and goals of various City departments as they labor under the guidance set forth by the council in 2024. This public portal is intended to shed light on the alignment between administrative actions and the council's strategic direction, heralding a new chapter of shared knowledge and progress tracking, per the City of Fort Worth.
Adopted by the Fort Worth City Council to steer the city towards a carefully crafted future, these strategic priorities also anchor the city’s comprehensive plan through to 2050. They spell out the council's vision in a handful of key areas: Economic development, which meaning to bolster the economy and support businesses; community investment that looks to enrich neighborhoods while grappling with housing and homelessness issues; prioritized community safety through public service enhancements; infrastructure improvements to undergird the city's growth and resident’s daily lives; and, finally, managing said responsible growth ensures a harmony between urban expansion and resource preservation.
City officials are heralding their new dashboard as a significant leap towards open governance. As a living document, this portal is set to evolve, with departments periodically refreshing their contributions to reflect new action items and performance metrics. This display of administrative accountability allows residents to track the tangents of city work—where it threads through the fabric of public priorities and where it promises to weave Fort Worth’s intended future.
