Police in Gilbert say a months-long scheme unfolded inside a local home, where a 38-year-old husband is accused of secretly drugging his wife, then arranging for other men to sexually assault her while she was unconscious. Detectives say some of the alleged attacks were recorded, and the case has now exploded into a major criminal investigation with officers actively searching for more potential evidence and witnesses.
Investigation and Arrests
According to Gilbert police, the investigation began in mid-December after allegations surfaced that the husband had been administering drugs to his wife without her knowledge, then using online platforms to solicit men to assault her. Detectives say they gathered enough evidence to arrest him on January 3. Prosecutors have charged him with about a dozen felony counts, including multiple sexual-assault and kidnapping charges, ABC15 Arizona reports.
Second Suspect and Recorded Encounters
Investigators later identified 41-year-old Evan Torres as one of the men who allegedly had intercourse with the woman while she was in no condition to consent. Gilbert police say Torres was arrested on Thursday and booked into jail. Officers allege the husband recorded some of the assaults, and those videos are now part of the growing case file.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Video
Detectives say they believe there could be more digital evidence tied to the alleged online solicitations, including messages, photos, or video clips. Residents are being urged to check phones, email accounts, and doorbell or home-security cameras for anything that might show unfamiliar visitors or suspicious activity linked to the home.
