
A disturbing scene unfolded in Gilbert on Tuesday afternoon, where a 911 call during a domestic dispute ended with a woman dead and a man critically injured. The incident occurred at a residence near Higley and Riggs roads, as per information from the Gilbert Police. A woman phoned the authorities after reportedly hearing gunshots amidst her parents' altercation, leading to a swift response from law enforcement.
Upon arrival shortly after 3 p.m., officers were compelled to force entry into the home, a task that revealed the grisly aftermath of the confrontation. "When officers arrived, they forced entry into the home and located two individuals with serious injuries, a 74-year-old woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a 76-year-old man, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition," Gilbert Police said. The incident appeared to be isolated, and officials have indicated that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
