Gila County authorities are currently searching for 19-year-old Deshawn Tarango, considered a person of interest in a New Year's Day shooting that left a juvenile dead. Early on the morning of January 1, amidst the backdrop of celebration turned to tragedy, law enforcement received a distressing 911 call. A shooting at a home on McKinney Avenue in the area of Mendoza Street in Globe was reported, as stated by the Gila County Sheriff's Office and shared by FOX 10 Phoenix.
Responding to the call about around 1 a.m., deputies and Globe police officers found the juvenile victim not breathing, and despite efforts to revive him, he succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon. While details of the incident remain scant, the Sheriff's Office in tandem with Globe Police Department are investigating the matter earnestly; their findings, when they arrived, painted a bleak picture where hope for survival was slim as reported by 12 News.
