Ream, who hails from West Plains, comes with a long-standing record of commitment to the field of optometry. Having operated his own practice for nearly four decades and served as president of the Missouri Optometric Foundation, his experience is intended to continuously enhance the board's standards. "Mr. Ream has been the owner and primary optometrist of Scott Ream Optometry for nearly 40 years," the announcement by the Governor's Office detailed, outlining his significant contributions to optometry in Missouri.
On the other hand, Schappe, based in Jefferson City, brings a varied legal background to his new appointment. His tenure as legal counsel for the Minority Caucus in the Missouri Senate, coupled with his continued engagement in community services such as the Fraternal Order of Eagles, positions him as an asset to the Board of Probation and Parole. Schappe's impressive educational achievements, which include a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Public Administration, and a Juris Doctorate, all from the University of Missouri School of Law, were highlighted in the Governor's Office statement.
