
Grafton, MA – The Grafton Police Department recently took a 27-year-old male into custody for allegedly running an illegal marijuana cultivation operation within a residential neighborhood. The unnamed suspect, part of a larger investigation by Grafton Detectives and the Blackstone Valley Drug Task Force, faces charges with others possibly following contingent on ongoing investigations, as confirmed in a social media post.
Armed with a search warrant, local authorities including Massachusetts State Police and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, were able to uncover a profusion of marijuana plants evidencing a substantial grow facility; these types of unregulated operations are often laden with perils such as severe fire risks due to electrical modifications, usage of dangerous chemicals, and potential mold issues because of the operations' typical high humidity levels, the Grafton Police has noted these concerns in the Facebook post present not just a danger to the operations themselves but also to neighboring residents who could suffer from associated risks including odors and increased traffic in their once calm abodes.
