Parish President Matthew Jewell, along with the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority and St. Charles Parish officials, celebrated the groundbreaking of the Des Allemands Boat Launch today. This milestone marks a long-awaited moment for the Des Allemands community, according to the St. Charles Parish's Facebook post.
The project will improve boating access, support tourism, and strengthen local infrastructure. Construction is expected to last about one year once work begins, as per the St. Charles Parish.
The boat launch will be located off WPA Road and U.S. Highway 90 on land donated by Chevron in 2021. Construction is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2026, and officials are proud to see the project officially underway.
