Looking further ahead, the NWS San Diego's long-term forecast indicates that a cooling trend may start on Sunday and continue into the middle of the next week. "Cooling will begin to spread inland on Sunday and Monday with high temperatures for the valleys still 8 to 12 degrees above average on Monday," the NWS San Diego noted. The presence of high pressure along the West Coast is predicted to shift off the coast by next Wednesday, potentially ushering in low pressure near the coast and widening the door for precipitation mid-to-late next week. These developments hint at a break from the dry, warm stretch that's characterized the region's weather recently.
