A Gwinnett County Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested in connection with an investigation involving alleged inappropriate contact with a minor, according to local authorities. The Gwinnett County Police Special Victim Unit began their investigation last Monday after a parent reported concerning messages sent to her teenage daughter by an adult. The deputy, identified as 21-year-old Rylee Willis of Stone Mountain, has been charged with multiple felonies. Willis was employed by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office at the time of the alleged incidents.
The investigation, conducted by the SVU, uncovered evidence that resulted in charges against Willis. Gwinnett County reports that he is facing two counts of Child Molestation and two counts of Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail and has been denied bond pending further court proceedings.
The investigation is being conducted in accordance with state law, and additional details are being withheld under OCGA 49-5-40(b). Any involvement of a law enforcement official in the case will be subject to standard procedures, and the Gwinnett County Police may be examined as the investigation progresses.
