A 38-year-old woman was taken into custody after a reported carjacking involving a Hamilton High School student in Chandler that prompted a brief lockdown Tuesday afternoon. The student was not injured, and school officials worked with police to secure the campus. Authorities located and arrested the suspect the following day.
Chandler police told 12News the call came in at about 2:30 p.m. near Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo Road, right by the Hamilton campus. Officers placed the school on a temporary lockdown while they checked the scene, then lifted it after detectives identified a suspect.
As reported by ABC15, police identified the arrested person as 38-year-old Raven White and said she was located and taken into custody on Wednesday. Authorities told the outlet White is being held on outstanding warrants from another agency and that formal charges in the carjacking remain pending while detectives continue the investigation.
