Chandler High School's football team is getting a wardrobe upgrade straight from an NFL MVP's personal brand. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Adidas have selected the Wolves as the only Arizona program to receive the 2026 Patrick Mahomes “Gladiator” uniform package, a national honor reserved for a handful of the country's top high school football powerhouses.
The selection was first reported by FOX 10 Phoenix, whose Desiree Fluellen covered the news of Chandler's new gear. The uniform program itself is far bigger than one school in the East Valley — Adidas and Mahomes expanded the initiative for the 2026 season by adding 13 new high school teams, bringing the total to 28 participating programs spread across 14 states, according to House of Heat. The program launched in 2025 with an initial cohort of 15 schools, and no Arizona programs made that first list, per the same report.
Chandler's inclusion this year makes it the state's sole representative, a distinction On3 highlights as especially notable given the size and reputation of the other programs chosen. Chandler joins nationally recognized powerhouses including California's Corona Centennial, Texas's Carthage and South Oak Cliff, Florida's Chaminade-Madonna, and New Jersey's Bergen Catholic, the outlet's report notes.
What the New Gear Actually Looks Like
The uniform package features all-white “Too Cold” jerseys carrying Mahomes' personal Gladiator branding over the heart, a design modeled after Texas Tech University's alternate football uniforms, House of Heat reports. Texas Tech debuted that same “Too Cold” look during the 2025 college football season, giving the high school version a direct visual link to Mahomes' alma mater.
The Gladiator logo itself — a fusion of the letters “P” and “M” inside a gladiator mask — dates back to August 2021, when Adidas first launched it as part of Mahomes' personal apparel line. It made history in 2024 as the first active NFL player's personal logo to appear on an official NCAA uniform, when Texas Tech Athletics put it on the field following the school's 10-year apparel partnership with Adidas that same July. Chandler High School didn't land this partnership by accident. Founded in 1912, the school has built one of Arizona's most dominant football legacies, winning five 6A/Division 1 state championships between 2014 and 2019 and claiming the inaugural Arizona Interscholastic Association Open Division state title in 2019, according to Cronkite News. That Open Division was created by the AIA specifically to pit the state's top programs against one another regardless of school enrollment size.
The Wolves' roster has continued to churn out elite talent. The high school outreach didn't emerge in a vacuum. Mahomes was inducted into the school's Ring of Honor in 2022, cementing a relationship that has now trickled down to programs like Chandler's.
Chandler sits within the Chandler Unified School District and enrolls more than 3,400 students, making it one of Arizona's largest public high schools, per Wikipedia. Its historic campus, with a main building dating back to 1921, is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places — a reminder that this is a century-old institution now sharing a jersey design with an NFL MVP.
