In a significant bust by Constable Deputies in Harris County, an extensive stolen vehicle ring was uncovered, resulting in the recovery of property valued at approximately $187,000 and the arrest of two individuals. A routine traffic stop on January 8, initiated by deputies near Mueschke Road and Jergen Road, spiraled into a brief chase. On being halted, a suspect fled the scene, precipitating a manhunt, though the perpetrator remained at large, as mentioned on a social media post.

Continuing their investigation, deputies tracked down a site on the 11300 block of Boudreaux Road where they discovered a trove of stolen vehicles and trailers, lifting the veil on a larger criminal operation. The vehicles were reported stolen from areas spanning Harris and Montgomery Counties. Included in the haul were various models such as a Polaris 570 ATV, two Ford F-150s, a luxe Cadillac Escalade, a Ford F-250, a Chevrolet Camaro, a Plymouth, a Hyundai, and three trailers.

During the investigation, Justin Hurt, a convicted felon, was caught within one of the stolen trailers and found to be in possession of firearms. The other detained individual, Tiffany Smith, was located in one of the stolen vehicles. According to Precinct4’s Facebook post, "Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail."

Charges have been filed against the apprehended pair: Hurt faces counts of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Felon in Possession of a Firearm, while Smith has been charged with Trespassing in a Motor Vehicle; their bond details, however, remain unsettled. The still-at-large suspect, identified as Justin Bowman, has been slapped with charges for Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. "The driver from the original evading incident has been positively identified as Justin Bowman and is currently wanted by law enforcement for Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. His total bond has not been set at this time out of the 183rd District Court. If you have any information as to his whereabouts, you are urged to contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement agency," stated Constable Asper Mark Herman Facebook post.
