Yesterday, an incident at a San Mateo Chevron station resulted in the arrest of a Hayward man. San Mateo Police Department officers made what they describe as "consensual contact" with Abhishek Prasher at the address of 3rd Avenue and South Norfolk Street. A check into Prasher's background revealed an active felony warrant, which led to his arrest.
Upon searching Prasher, officers found brass knuckles, an item prohibited by California law. With his consent, a subsequent search of his vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded Glock pistol tucked under the front passenger seat, reported stolen from Stockton last May. Conveyed to the San Mateo County Jail, Prasher, 23, now faces multiple charges.
According to a social media post from the San Mateo Police Department, Prasher's charges include carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, possession of stolen property, carrying a loaded firearm in public under specific circumstances, and possession of brass knuckles, alongside the outstanding felony warrant.
