Just before dawn on Dec. 3, a man shattered the front glass door of the House of Kings Card Club in East El Paso, forced his way inside, and grabbed a small amount of cash, authorities say. The burglary left the business with several thousand dollars in damage and has police and Crime Stoppers renewing their call for tips.
Photos Released, Suspect Described
According to KFOX, the break-in happened around 4 a.m. on Dec. 3 at the club at 10705 Gateway West. Security images released by investigators show a thin-built man wearing a motorcycle helmet, jacket, and gloves who went straight to the cashier area, then took off on foot to the south side of the shopping center toward Gateway West.
Case Highlighted as Crime of the Week
Local outlets report the case has been selected as this week’s Crime of the Week, giving the surveillance photos a fresh push in the community. As highlighted by KTSM, investigators believe the suspect stole a small, undisclosed amount of cash, while the damage to the front door alone is estimated at several thousand dollars.
How to Submit a Tip
Crime Stoppers of El Paso is working with the El Paso Police Department and is asking anyone with information to call (915) 566-8477 (TIPS) or send an anonymous tip online. As noted by Crime Stoppers of El Paso, callers and online tipsters stay anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
Club Location and Context
House of Kings lists its address, membership details, and daily tournament schedule on its website, with regulars forming the backbone of its business. Even when the amount of cash taken is relatively small, repairing a smashed storefront and dealing with interrupted operations can deliver a serious hit to a small, membership-based club.
