The city has also expanded programs offering scholarships, apprenticeships, and business coaching, with a focus on Latino business owners and technology entrepreneurs.
Adding to the slate of advancements, the city's fire department has been putting out more than just fires, with 10 new firefighters hired, and some much-needed attention paid to the threat of wildfires, says the City of Hillsboro. It wasn’t just about adding boots on the ground, with additions like American Sign Language to the language line, a nod toward inclusive services.
Looking ahead to 2026, Hillsboro city officials plan to continue expanding public services and community programs. Projects in development include new fire stations, sports facilities, and community art initiatives.
