Early Wednesday morning, a Cordova neighborhood was shaken by a home invasion that swiftly turned into a law enforcement foot chase and an arrest. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on the 1300 block of Charles Bryan Road. A homeowner and their family were inside the residence when an unidentified man, later identified as Chris Scanlon, 37, attempted to break in.
Upon receiving a report of the invasion, deputies arrived and found Scanlon in the backyard. The situation escalated when Scanlon tried to escape, inciting a brief chase on foot and a struggle before deputies apprehended him.
