Continuing their tradition of backing community initiatives, the Kiwanis Club of Mason, Ohio, has once again stepped up by granting $1,000 to bolster the City of Mason's efforts to foster a harmonious relationship between local youth and law enforcement. This grant, as shared on the City of Mason's official Facebook page, is set to support the Police Department's Good Choice Ticket program, a key initiative that acknowledges the positive actions of local children.
Under the Good Choice Ticket program, a significant interaction between police officers and Mason's young residents is cultivated, wherein officers commend the kids for their positive choices by issuing "Good Choice" tickets. These tickets are then redeemable for various treats and benefits from Mason's small businesses.
The encouragement of positive interactions with the police via this program is designed to reshape the narrative around law enforcement in the eyes of the younger generation. By encouraging positive behavior and recognizing it publicly, children are provided with tangible incentives to continue being role models in their community. Engaging with local businesses not only helps the local economy but also creates a strong support system for the youth.
