
Chaos briefly reigned on the Las Vegas Strip yesterday when a large crowd became unruly outside a resort on South Las Vegas Boulevard, police said. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated on social media that the crowd had formed due to a performance and had started to impede traffic, prompting intervention by law enforcement.
Officers on the scene worked to disperse the gathering and took eleven individuals into custody. The situation escalated when an officer was hit by an object thrown from amid the chaos, though no injuries were reported. In their post, LVMPD announced, "#BREAKING We are currently investigating an incident where an unruly crowd formed outside a resort property in the 3600 block South Las Vegas Boulevard."

According to a report by News3LV, multiple area commands responded to assist with, what became a concerted effort to contain the situation and restore order. Following the arrests and police action, officials reported that the ordeal reached a peaceful conclusion.
As the incident unfolded, vehicle and pedestrian traffic were impacted but has since returned to normal levels. Despite the return to order, a substantial police presence remained on the Strip into the morning. The public was advised to expect ongoing police activity even as normality began to return to the famous boulevard. LVMPD concluded their update by stating, "No officers were injured during this incident."
