A Sunday night shooting in the parking lot of a Burnsville townhome complex left a man dead and a neighborhood sealed off by investigators, according to police.
Officers were called at about 10:38 p.m. to reports of gunfire near Andrews Pointe Townhomes at East 117th Street. When they arrived, they found an adult male in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
In a Facebook update, the City of Burnsville said officers and paramedics performed life-saving measures at the scene before the victim was transported to the hospital. The city noted the investigation is active and said there is no known threat to the public at this time. Officials added that more information will be released when appropriate and asked residents for patience while detectives work the case.
