A man in his 50s was killed in a shooting that occurred in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 2 p.m. at an apartment in the 4200 block of Michigan Avenue, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead. Later that evening, at approximately 7 p.m., a man in his 40s was taken into custody on the 4500 block of Adkins. Charges are pending as the Circuit Attorney’s Office reviews the case.
The victim’s identity has not been released as authorities work to notify next of kin. Investigators have not disclosed additional details, and homicide detectives continue to examine the circumstances of the shooting. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact police as the investigation continues.
