A 24-year-old man is recovering after being shot multiple times in an altercation at a Bronx business on New Year's Day, as reported by the NYPD. PIX11 revealed that the incident took place at 693 East 236 Street around 6:30 p.m., where the victim was involved in a fight with three men inside a hair salon.
The melee escalated when one of the suspects brandished a firearm and shot the victim in the left thigh and abdomen at the salon in Wakefield police sources stated no arrests have been made as of yet, with two suspects having fled in a white sedan and the third on foot, the alleged shooter was last seen wearing a black jacket with "Amiri" on the front, his dark-tinted getaway car escaping eastbound on East 236 Street while his accomplice took a westbound route.
Meanwhile, Hoodline covered a different angle, reporting the same victim received wounds to the chest and thigh from the shooting which originated from a dispute inside a Wakefield deli, based on updates from News 12 The Bronx. The injured man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and remains in stable condition.
Video evidence from the scene showed the blockaded area managed by several officers, although the exact reasons behind the skirmish and the subsequent shooting are still unknown, police continue their search for any leads that could point to the suspects who are at large while the survivor of the multiple gunshot wounds is expected to recover from his injuries.
