An incident of gun violence broke out on Garibaldi Street SW yesterday afternoon, leaving one man with a gunshot wound. The Atlanta Police Department reports that officers arrived at 1040 Garibaldi St SW following a call about a shooting at approximately 1:09 pm yesterday. According to the preliminary information released by the Atlanta Police Department's website, a male victim was found with injuries sustained by gunfire.
Emergency personnel from Atlanta Fire Rescue, the first to offer aid at the scene, were attending to the victim before the EMS arrived. Transported to a local hospital, the individual was reportedly "alert, conscious and breathing" at the time, a sign which perhaps indicates the severity of their condition may not be as grave as initially feared.
Active efforts by investigators are now in place, seeking to untangle the sequence of events that led to this shooting, along with any potential suspect information.
