Maple Grove locals have found a chilly thrill with the city's sledding hill at Gleason Fields, which now offers both day and nighttime sledding adventures. The City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government recently announced via social media that residents are welcome to slide into the New Year with their own sleds or grab one from the complimentary sled shed on site. "Enjoy riding down the hill day or night as lights turn on each evening for extra winter fun," says the city's post.
Embracing the season's spirit of giving, the community is also encouraged to donate used sleds. These contributions can be left at the sled shed itself or delivered to the front desk of the Maple Grove Community Center. "Have a sled you’d like to donate? Drop it in the sled shed or bring to the front desk of the Maple Grove Community Center," the city's officials suggested, embracing the communal vibe of the local initiative. Donations are always appreciated by fellow residents looking to partake in the frosty fun.
This winter feature adds to Maple Grove's suite of recreational activities, providing an accessible and family-friendly outdoor option. Thanks to the installed lighting, the thrill doesn't have to end when the sun sets; it only amplifies as community members can continue to zip down Gleason Fields' slopes under the winter night sky.
Gleason Fields is located at 18815 67th Avenue, Maple Grove, 55311, serving as a beacon for winter activity in the area. With the season in full swing, residents have an open invitation to experience the joy of sledding, while helping out neighbors with sled donations, a circle of sharing and excitement amidst the cold weather. Whether a seasoned sledder or a first-timer, the hill at Gleason Fields seems ready to welcome all those looking to add some speed to their winter celebrations.
