The Marion County Coroner's Office is requesting assistance from the public in identifying a female pedestrian killed in an incident on New Year's Day. The woman, struck shortly before 12:30 a.m. near West 10th Street and North Bauman Street in Indianapolis's west side, was described as being a white female in her early 20s with unique identifiers including dark brown hair and blue braids, as reported by FOX59.

Apart from her distinctive hair, the coroner's officials pinpoint numerous tattoos as possible leads in determining her identity, these being a heart on her face, a "J" on her right forearm connected to an electrocardiogram line, the tattoos "A R I" on her right index finger, "Hustle" with a bag of money on her neck the phrase "REAL – Realize Everyone Ain't Loyal" across her chest and the names "Amanda" and "Davonte" alongside other significant inscriptions. According to WISH-TV, the electrocardiogram tattoo also includes Roman numerals beneath implying a date March 30, 2012, which could potentially be a clue to her past events or connections.

The driver who struck the woman is reported to have been traveling eastbound when the incident occurred and had dialed 911 himself after the event, details found in another report by WTHR, adding that the pedestrian was crossing southbound outside of a designated crosswalk at the time of the collision.

With the MCCO's commitment to restoring "Our responsibility is to restore a name and dignity to every person in our care," as cited in the release given to WTHR, they stress the need for community involvement, the woman, they say, is "loved" and that her family should be afforded support and answers, for anyone with information, they are urged to reach out directly to the Marion County Coroner's Office at 317-327-4744.
