A shooting incident in Memphis has left local residents unsettled, as police responded to reports of gunfire on January 1 in the 500 block of West Levi Road. The Memphis Police Department, who arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m., found that the victim had been struck by bullets without seeing the assailant; as per video evidence, the shooter attacked while the victim stood outside, and then fled the scene. This footage also hinted that before the shooting took place, the assailant had been loitering in a nearby business, suggesting a potentially premeditated act.
The suspect, identified only through surveillance as a Black male with long dreadlocks, was last seen wearing a black bubble coat, black jeans, and black shoes at the time of the crime, according to a release by the Memphis Police Department. The community is on alert as the search for the gunman continues, with authorities urging anyone with pertinent details to come forward.
