Heather Lewis, 34, of Merrimack, was involved in a highway chase that ended in a standoff on Interstate 293. NBC Boston reported that the pursuit began near a Citizens Bank on Route 102 in Londonderry after local officers approached a suspicious vehicle.

The incident escalated when Lewis allegedly evaded Londonderry police, leading to a westbound chase on Route 102 and later onto Interstate 93 north, where State Police became involved. Despite attempts to deploy tire deflation devices, Lewis reportedly drove onto Interstate 293, attempting to enter the southbound lanes against traffic. A state trooper used his cruiser to stop the vehicle, according to NBC Boston. The highway was closed for about two hours.

During the standoff, officers attempted to negotiate with Lewis, who refused to leave her vehicle. WMUR stated that the situation was resolved with the help of a K-9 and the use of less-lethal munitions. Lewis was taken into custody and transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester for treatment of minor injuries.

Following her arrest, Lewis faces multiple charges, including several felonies for reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, as well as resisting arrest and criminal mischief. She is expected to be arraigned later this week, with additional updates to follow as court proceedings continue.
