As the City of Mesquite edges back to its routine, residents can expect most services to dust off the holiday cobwebs and get back to business this Wednesday. According to the City of Mesquite, while the likes of Mesquite Golf Course, Senior Centers, and Mesquite Natatorium will remain closed and some programs canceled, other community fixtures will be opening their doors once more, though with limited hours.
For families longing for a sense of normalcy, the news may come as a mixed blessing. With 'After School Adventures' and 'Ice Camp' scratched off the activity list, along with youth basketball practices, parents might have to scramble for alternative arrangements. But they’ll catch a break with the four recreation centers - Evans, Dunford, Rutherford, and Florence - which will welcome patrons from 12 to 6 p.m., giving a little legroom for both work and leisure.
The city has urged anyone with concerns to get in touch by calling 972-288-7711 or submitting a request through the myMesquite service. They are making efforts to keep the lines of communication as open as the rec centers, despite the scaled-back operations elsewhere.
