Miami-Dade County has completed upgrades to the Haulover Park Marina and Boat Ramp, according to the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for the morning tomorrow, at the facility along Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. The improvements include measures to address tidal flooding and storm impacts, along with updates to safety features and boater access at the public marina.

The project included a range of upgrades intended to improve current operations and address future environmental conditions. Key changes involved raising parking areas and access roads, adding docks to reduce congestion, and replacing fixed docks with floating docks that adjust to changing water levels. Additional updates include the installation of vehicle charging stations, landscaping improvements, and upgrades to drainage, lighting, and signage.

According to the Miami-Dade County, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said the investments are intended to help keep the waterfront accessible to the public and better protected against flooding.

“Haulover Park Marina is a vital recreational and economic asset for our community,” District 4 Commissioner Micky Steinberg said in an official statement to Miami-Dade County. The investment focuses on improving public access and safety while reducing the facility’s vulnerability to future flooding and storm impacts. The approximately $13.8 million project was funded through the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond, a Florida Inland Navigational District grant, and allocations from the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.

The upgrades are part of Miami-Dade County’s broader efforts to maintain and improve waterfront infrastructure that supports recreation, economic activity, and the management of public spaces. The Miami-Dade County Parks system includes more than 300 parks and approximately 40,000 acres of active and passive parkland and nature preserves. Additional information about Haulover Park Marina and other park projects is available on the department’s website and through its official social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
