In a recent accident at a North Miami Beach lift station, a Miami-Dade County worker sustained injuries after falling approximately 20 to 25 feet down a hole. Local 10 News reported that the incident occurred this afternoon at the location of 1600 NE 167th St, where the lift station, a non-standard manhole with a metal grate, serves as an entry point to reach subterranean equipment. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's George May stated, “We’re really proud of our technical rescue teams. They had to be called out,” noting their swift response in extricating the worker in about 20 minutes, and the individual was subsequently, they had to be called out, they "trauma-alerted and transported to (HCA Florida) Aventura Hospital in stable condition."

In a separate but equally alarming event yesterday morning, a construction accident severely injured two men on a site in the 16300 block of Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach, as WSVN reported. A malfunctioning construction lift, while carrying the men at the ninth level of a residential building, experienced a catastrophic motor failure resulting in its fall, "They were up at the ninth floor and the motor on the lift blew up and they fell nine stories down," Ralph Rayburn of 7Skyforce narrated from his vantage point above the scene. One man suffered electrocution from a contact with a Florida Power & Light power line, while his colleague experienced a nine-story fall after their platform crashed. The first man is now stabilized, but the second worker is in critical condition.

After the construction site accident, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) investigators arrived promptly to scrutinize the site and work activity ceased, 7News cameras picked up no subsequent work activity at the location as ongoing investigations are being conducted. Following the power line incident, FPL officials confirmed that 2,300 customers experienced a temporary power outage due to de-energization of a power section, which has been restored.

The identities and ages of the individuals involved were not immediately disclosed by authorities.
