A 39-year-old Sarah Tavano has been charged with multiple offenses related to allegedly drugging and burglarizing several men she met at Miami bars. Tavano, originally from Massachusetts, reportedly gained the trust of her victims before incapacitating them. She was arrested on Sunday at Sugar, a rooftop bar in Miami, and police say she was found with a white powdery substance, pills, and a bottle of Jägermeister containing MDMA, according to Local 10.
Local law enforcement stated that Tavano had been identified in connection with earlier investigations. According to authorities, her alleged method involved befriending men who later experienced blackouts and discovered that valuables were missing. In three reported incidents, victims said luxury items were taken, and in one case, unauthorized bank and cryptocurrency transactions totaling more than $34,000 were reported.
According to police and court records, Tavano faces charges including burglary of an occupied dwelling, second-degree grand theft, organized fraud, strong-armed robbery, food or water poisoning, and possession of cocaine and other controlled substances. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Michelle Delancy set her total bond at $55,000, with the condition that Tavano must show the bail funds were not obtained through criminal activity.
A mugshot and additional information on Tavano, including her physical description and charges, are available on Mugshots Zone. While bond amounts for some of her charges have not yet been determined, she currently faces $2,500 bonds each for cocaine and controlled substance possession, as well as $2,500 for third-degree grand theft.
As Tavano’s cases move forward under Judge Delancy, authorities say the incidents involve alleged targeting of individuals in social settings such as bars. Prosecutors will present evidence related to the alleged thefts and drugging in upcoming hearings.
