The Midlothian Police Department in Texas has proudly announced their latest accolades for two of their department members, distinguishing exceptional service in police work and emergency response. In posts shared on their social media page, they recognized Officer Dalton Bailey as "Officer of the Quarter" for October to December 2025.
Officer Bailey's peers nominated him for his exceptional performance, having worked extensively on several vehicle burglaries in his sector. His investigations were fruitful, leading to the arrest of at least three burglars known to be targeting the community. Moreover, Bailey's aptitude shone through in a child sexual assault case. He was the first officer on the call, and his interview skills during the early phases of the case resulted in a confession from one suspect, the department disclosed. Bailey also managed to obtain crucial information that was instrumental in drafting an arrest warrant for a second suspect involved in the case.
The department also acknowledged the outstanding contribution of Telecommunicator Kassandra Portillo, who was named the "Non-Sworn Employee of the Quarter." As detailed by the department, Portillo demonstrated not only exceptional professionalism and composure, but also the skill to save a life when it counted most. During a critical moment, she fielded a distressing 911 call involving a 55-year-old unresponsive male.
Portillo's quick actions and clear instructions were crucial. Following the protocols of the department's Emergency Medical Dispatch program, she was able to calmly guide a highly distressed caller to successfully perform CPR. Her precise guidance and ability to remain composed under pressure helped to sustain the patient's life until the Fire Department could arrive to take over, as highlighted in their post.
