Residents of a Miramar apartment complex received treatment for smoke inhalation today after a fire broke out on a unit’s patio. First responders quickly brought the situation under control. According to an email from Miramar Fire Administrative Officer Tara Smith obtained by Local 10, the fire was reported around 12:15 p.m. at an apartment building on the 3400 block of Foxcroft Road.
Miramar Fire Rescue units responded promptly to the apartment fire near Northwest 37th Avenue and Foxcroft Road, working to extinguish the flames and protect nearby structures. According to Smith, there was no spread to other units or adjacent buildings. Some residents were treated on-site for minor smoke inhalation, but all declined transport to a hospital.
The fire, which originated on the first-floor unit’s patio, was quickly extinguished by fire crews, preventing it from spreading to other units. Local reports from WSVN confirmed that, due to the rapid response, no serious injuries occurred among residents or firefighters.
