The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was pleased to announce on social media that Clarence Carter, previously reported missing, has been located and is safe. The TBI issued a #TNSilverAlert earlier for Carter, who had gone missing from Bedford County. The 64-year-old man was last seen yesterday near the Ligon Drive area in Shelbyville, before his timely discovery in Manchester. The TBI took to Facebook to thank the community, noting, "Thanks for helping us spread the word!"
Concerns were heightened as Carter was believed to be on foot and has a medical condition that may impair his ability to safely return without assistance. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as being 6’3” tall, weighing 210 lbs., with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans and a black hoodie adorned with a flag and cross. Officials had urgently requested the public's assistance, asking anyone who might have seen Carter to call the Shelbyville Police Department or the TBI. The details of Carter's condition were not disclosed, but they sufficiently concerned authorities to quickly mobilize community support.
Cooperation between the TBI and local authorities, alongside community vigilance, played a crucial role in ensuring Carter's well-being. The TBI has encouraged Tennessee residents to download the TBI Find App, which provides more details on the Silver Alert program and further resources to aid in similar situations. The TBI thanked the public in their statement.
