A New Hampshire therapist has been taken into custody on charges of sexual assault against a patient, as reported yesterday by local authorities. Daniel Thibeault, a 51-year-old from Laconia, is accused of assaulting a female patient during an office visit.

The investigation into the allegations against Thibeault began in August 2025 when the Bow Police Department received complaints of his misconduct. Following an extensive investigation lasting several months, an arrest warrant was finally issued. According to a statement obtained by Boston 25 News, Thibeault is now facing two counts of felonious sexual assault and one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault.

Presently, Thibeault is being held at the Merrimack County House of Corrections and is expected to be arraigned soon. In the meantime, law enforcement officials are encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward. Bow Police Department's Detective Sergeant Tyler Coady can be reached at 603-223-3956 or via email, as reported by Boston 25 News.

As Bow Police Chief Kenneth Miller clarified, a pre-licensed therapist, such Thibeault, is someone who has yet to earn full licensure in their professional field. The charges have prompted a call for any other potential victims to contact Bow police with information related to this case or any other similar episodes, as stated by WMUR.
